Earthquakes usually come without warning. There is plenty of danger when an earthquakehappens. Although it's dangerous in an earthquake, we can still do many things to protect ourselves.
We should try to stay calm as the earth begins to shake. Staying calm is not easy but can save our lives. Then how can we make the chances of surviving go up?
If we are inside when the earthquake starts, it's a good idea to get under a table or a bed. And the strong table or bed can protect us from falling objects. We shouldn't stand near the windows. It's dangerous because of lots of glass in them. Never stay in bed or use the elevator. It's wrong to try to jump out through the windows or from the stairs(楼梯).
